Beating the Bounds

Join us for ‘Beating the bounds’ – Saturday 2nd September from 2.30pm. Starting at All Saints Church (refreshments available from 1.30pm).

Beating the bounds is an ancient tradition that involved swatting local landmarks with branches to maintain a shared mental map of important boundaries.

This event, in partnership with Knoll Residents Association and All Saints Orpington has two walking routes.

The first one in blue below roughly follows the Knoll boundary (but taking in a few parks!). It is 3.3 miles and will take just over an hour.

For the more adventurous – the red route which roughly takes in the full All Saints parish boundary is 9.7 miles and will add on another 2.5 hours or so.

You are welcome to join for either or both.

The event is raising funds for the Children’s Society so if you are taking part or see us on route, please drop some money in the tin.

Weather is currently looking very good.

The more sedate Blue route (above) is around 3.3 miles.
The more energetic Red route (below) is just under 10 miles
