At 7.30pm, on the evening of Sunday 18th September 2022, around 250 residents joined us in Broxbourne Gardens, in Broxbourne Road, to help create a large temporary memorial of Her Majesty The Queen by placing candles on the ground.
Video was captured both on the ground, and in the air using a drone, and the image of the queen formed. From the air, the candles appeared like “fireflies” as they were carried by young and old alike to take their place on the common until the picture emerged.
We joined The National Minutes Silence at 8pm and then a poem by local resident Philippa Atkin was read out by our treasurer Carol Bisley.
