Celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee in The Knoll

We are delighted to let you know about two Jubilee events to celebrate our Queen’s 70 years on the throne.

Both events are to be held on the special four-day Bank holiday in June:

Beacon on Broomhill Common – Thursday 2nd June

We are taking part in this national event where 1,500 fire beacons will be lit simultaneously around the country.

There will be a special church service to mark the Queen’s reign at 8.15pm at St John’s United Reform Church, in Lynwood Grove, followed by a candlelight procession at 9pm towards Broomhill Common via Broxbourne Road and Chislehurst Road.

We are pleased to now be able to confirm that The Orpington Chorale will be performing for us on the common, at 9.30pm (see advert)

The beacon will be lit on Broomhill Common at 9.45pm.

If you wish to join in, we have made some of the words available here:
Jubilee Beacon Songs

All residents of the Knoll are invited to join the church service, the beacon lighting and then onto the Cricketer’s at 10pm to raise a glass to Her Majesty. Please wear suitable footwear, clothing and of course bring any flags you might have for some patriotic waving!

Picnic at Broxbourne Gardens Sunday 5th June 12pm to 3pm

We are inviting all residents to join us for a picnic on Broxbourne Gardens. There will be some cricket and other fun games that you are welcome to participate in, or alternatively sit back and enjoy a glass of bubbly!

Please bring your own picnic refreshments and blanket / chairs as required.
